Swept away by Finca son Ru: A note from the Guestbook

Uncover the beauty of Finca Son Ru as our friend Brooke shares her transformative she she retreat experience—moments of renewal and nature’s allure in Mallorca.

Hi dear,

I need to tell you about the most soul-nourishing retreat that I went to earlier this year. I’d been a silent admirer of she she retreats for ages, so when I left my corporate job, the timing felt absolutely perfect to head to Mallorca. No hesitation — it just felt meant to be.

The moment I arrived at Finca Son Ru, I was in awe. It’s this beautiful, peaceful oasis, almost like stepping into a dream. The charm of that place is still with me, lingering in my mind like a soft memory. I’m sure you would fall in love with it too.

Inside, every corner felt unique, but I found my favourite spot under the shade of the olive trees, right where the Tramuntana Mountains meet the sea. At dusk, the sunlight would skim across the ocean, creating this golden dance that felt like art coming to life. Just sitting there in that stillness was everything.

Each day started slowly — lemon tea in the courtyard, a gentle movement session, and then a breakfast of fresh, local Mallorquin treats. I spent long afternoons by the pool, soaking in the sun, savoring quiet conversations, and watching the sweet chefs whip up the most incredible meals. I was totally offline, completely immersed in the present moment. It felt so freeing to let go of all the usual noise and just be.

One memory that stands out was a morning practice in the hills. A storm was approaching, and as we moved, gusts of wind swirled up, covering us in this magical, misty haze. We all drifted off on our own paths, each of us wrapped in this quiet, mystical moment. It was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced — just standing among the clouds, feeling the chill and taking in that wild beauty.

I dearly miss Stef and Jesse, the gorgeous Dutch-Greek duo that nourished us all week with flavourful, fresh Mediterranean meals and plenty of laughter.
Gathering around the table with sweet company and sharing stories over beautiful food made the simple experience of dining so special. They have such a gift of creating culinary masterpieces and their warm hearts and humour were infectious; I fondly remember the music and laughter drifting from the kitchen every time I wandered by.

If I had to describe the retreat in three words? Wistful, breathtaking, and sublime.

Mallorca has a piece of my heart now, and I’m already dreaming of going back. Spain is calling me, and I have this strong pull toward the Mediterranean — maybe Costa Brava or Puglia next. And the English countryside has been on my list too. So many places left to explore!

Lots of love from,

Brooke
